The Parque Solar do Interior Alentejano – PSIA (Inner Alentejo Solar Park) is located in an area of about 22 ha and started operating in 2008. It is a two-axis photovoltaic solar park, with an installed power of 2.15 MW for the production of electricity and connection to the public EDP (Electricity of Portugal) grid. It has a potential annual production of 4.45 gigawatts/hour, enough to power around 2000 homes, and allows for annual savings of six thousand tons in CO2 emissions. The Solar Park has installed 12 780 Kyocera-type photovoltaic panels, with an adjustable angle of orientation, depending on the solar time, mounted on 426 solar towers, with adjustable double axis.
