The Champalimaud Research Centre has fulfilled the Foundation’s objective of building a multidisciplinary, transnational and reference scientific research centre in the field of biomedicine, neuroscience and oncology. The Centre consists of two 3-storey buildings and one underground storey, one of them housing laboratories, diagnostic and treatment areas, and the other housing administrative services, an auditorium and a restaurant. The complex also has panoramic gardens and an open-air amphitheatre open to the public. The Centre has a built area of 12 755 m² and occupies an implantation area of 38 808 m².
