Application development within the scope of the ZDMP Innovation project

The first applications developed for CONSULGAL’s case study in the ZDMP – Zero Defects Manufacturing Platform Innovation project are already in the testing phase.

CONSULGAL participates, since January 2019, in the ZDMP – Zero Defects Manufacturing Platform project, funded by the European Commission under the Horizon 2020 Programme, as part of a consortium of 30 companies, institutes and universities from 9 European countries. CONSULGAL is the leader of the Construction pilot, having, in this context, designed a case-study related to the management of construction materials, from their manufacture to the operation of the infrastructure, including the reception and integration of materials on site. For the purposes of the study, CONSULGAL designed and defined the requirements of 4 computer applications that are being developed by UNINOVA (Portugal) and the Polytechnic University of Valencia (Spain). Two of these applications are practically completed: one focuses on monitoring and compiling documentary evidence of production and quality control of materials, from their manufacture to their approval for use on site, allowing the sharing and circulation of information in real time, between the Supplier, the Contractor and the Works Supervision (the Engineer according to FIDIC); the second, focuses on works planning and modifications, working in an integrated way with the first, through the communication of deviations in delivery deadlines, allowing a better circulation of information between Contractor and Works Supervision and an easier interaction with the planning of the project. The applications are already in the testing phase, and it is expected that they can be tested at a work site during next month.

The objective of the ZDMP project is to develop a platform that manufacturing companies can access to develop, use and store applications and services, in an interactive and interoperable way, that allow them to achieve the goal of zero defects in their products and processes and achieve the excellence in its productive activities.
