CONSULGAL is the leader of the consortium for the Works Supervision and Coordination of the Madeira Central Hospital, recently renamed as Madeira Central and University Hospital, in Funchal, promoted by the Regional Secretary of Equipment and Infrastructure (SREI) of the Autonomous Region of Madeira.

This project represents an essential investment in the framework of the whole strategy in the field of Health, carried out by the Regional Government of Madeira, and it is a building with a gross construction area of ​​172 093 m2, including the hospital itself, the technical areas and the parking lot, with a building implantation area of ​​37,754 m2. The Madeira Central Hospital, with a maximum capacity of 607 beds, 79 of which for intensive care, and 11 surgery rooms, will include the following services: External Consultation and Special Exams of Medical and Surgical Specialties, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Pediatrics, Hospitalization, Outpatient Medical Services, General Emergency, Pediatric Emergency, Gynecological Emergency and Obstetric Emergency, Radiology, Hemodynamics and Interventional Radiology, Radiotherapy, Oncology, Nuclear Medicine, Hyperbaric Medicine, Hemodialysis, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Medical Day Hospital and Hospital of Pediatric Day, Intensive and Intermediate Care Units, Neonatology, Pediatric Intensive and Intermediate Care, Surgery Room, Delivery Unit, Surgical Day Hospital, Medically Assisted Procreation Center, Radiology, Pediatric Oncology Day Hospital, Immunohemotherapy and Blood Service, in addition to other support services and infrastructure, including a Helipad and a car park for 1,160 cars, 832 of which will be covered.

The contract between the Consortium led by CONSULGAL and SREI was signed in July 2021 and comprises the supervision of all the contracts of the hospital project, which should be completed in 55 months, plus a guarantee period of 10 years that is included in the Works Supervision and Coordination services. The team is formed by 24 technicians distributed by the functional areas of works supervision and coordination, quality and environment, execution control, planning and cost control and safety coordination on site.

The contract that is currently underway corresponds to the excavation and peripheral containment phase, with the contract for the work of structures and outdoor spaces being currently contracted.
