Description:

The objective of the modernization and expansion of the Port of Praia was to modernize the facilities and operational systems of the Port, in order to respond to the freight increase forecast of 2 million tons of goods by 2030. The 1st phase consisted of the construction of a cargo terminal on the plateau overlooking the port, a 2×2 access road from the new terminal to the port and the removal of warehouses and repaving of quay 2. In the 2nd phase, the construction of a new 234 m long breakwater, the extension of quay 1 by 450 m, dredging of the maneuver basin, construction of a protection mantle and paving of a container park of about 6 hectares with dredging material and installation of a navigation support system.

Scope of services: Advice to the client during works procurement and contracting, supervision of construction, including design supervision, cost control, planning control, quality control and management, control of health and safety conditions and environmental management, analysis and evaluation of environmental and project studies, of Environmental Impact Studies (EIA) and of Environmental Management Plans (EMP), conclusions and recommendations.
