A diverse range of
building and urban projects
CONSULGAL has a vast curriculum in buildings and urbanism where it provided various services, from infrastructure planning and urban rehabilitation, to studies, project designs and works supervision of different types of buildings like housing, commerce, offices, hospitals, hotels, schools and sports facilities.
In Portugal, CONSULGAL was responsible for the management and supervision of complex buildings such as the Champalimaud Research Centre in Lisbon, a multidisciplinary, transnational and reference scientific research centre in the field of biomedicine, as well as the Data Centre in Covilhã, and the Science and Technology Park of the University of Porto (UPTEC), designed to promote the creation of technological, scientific and creative companies and to attract centres of innovation.
The company was also responsible for supervising the works of the new Sport Lisboa e Benfica stadium and also of the Aveiro Municipal stadium, both built for the Euro 2004 event. Regarding public space and infrastructure, the supervision services for the works on the Avenida das Naus in Lisbon as well as various services for the Polis program, an instrument of financial support for urban revitalization programs funded by the European Union and managed by the Government of Portugal.
CONSULGAL supervised the construction of hotels such as the new Hotel Savoy Palace in Madeira, hospitals in Lamego and Amarante, schools such as Macedo Fragateiro in Ovar and Joaquim de Carvalho in Figueira da Foz, and residential or office buildings such as the Panoramic Building in Lisbon.
Internationally, the famous Hotel Galaxy Macau stands out, where inspection and consultancy services were provided. Other important international projects are the technical assistance for the elaboration of Wilaya d’Alger’s Urban Planning and the execution of its Master Plan, and the consultancy and supervision of housing construction near the city of Al Zantan in Libya, with 3,300 houses and several services buildings.
The UPTEC building received the RegioStars 2013 European Award for Intelligent Growth, the Covilhã Data Center building received the Construir 2013 award for Best Engineering Project and Most Sustainable in Portugal and also the Uptime Brill Award in the category “EMEA Data Centre Design”.
