CONSULGAL was the official sponsor of the session “How to improve road safety in our towns and cities”, promoted by ADFERSIT on 26 June.
This session brought to the fore a crucial issue for the future of urban mobility in Portugal: the importance of policies and interventions that strengthen road safety in urban and semi-urban contexts, with a special focus on towns and cities where motorised traffic, soft modes, and public space increasingly coexist in complex ways.
The session brought together experts who presented valuable insights on measures such as 30 km/h zones, protection of vulnerable users, improvement of intersections, pedestrian crossings, and Municipal Road Safety Plans, aligned with the National Vision Zero 2030 Strategy adfersit.pt.
Guest speakers:
- Eng.ª Ana Tomaz – Vice President of the National Road Safety Authority
- Dra. Joana Baptista – Road Safety Coordinator at the Directorate-General for Education
- Eng. João Cardoso – Principal Researcher at the National Civil Engineering Laboratory
- Eng. Paulo Marques Augusto – Director of Mobility at Cascais Próxima, E.M., S.A. adfersit.pt
We thank ADFERSIT for organising this space for reflection and knowledge sharing, and we reaffirm our commitment to developing engineering and consulting solutions that contribute to safer, more sustainable, and more inclusive mobility.
