Description:

Construction of the New Sport Lisboa e Benfica Stadium, a Multisport Hall, and landscaping. In total, the works involved 500 000 m³ of excavations, 100 000m³ of concrete, 12 500 tons of steel rod, 2000 m of piling and 30 000 m² of metal structure coverage. The new stadium has a capacity of 65 000 covered seats, spread over 4 rings. The building has 7 floors, 3 of which are underground and has 1 400 indoor parking spaces in 3 underground floors. It also houses a Museum, Health Club, Panoramic Restaurant and Bars. The stadium hosted several matches of the 2004 European Football Championship, including the final, as well as the Champions League finals in 2014 and 2020.

Scope of services: CONSULGAL’s intervention included the provision of Services for Inspection of the Quality of Materials and the Execution of the Work and the Safety and Health Coordination in the Design and Work phases, having also covered the demolition of the old Luz Stadium.
